Referat despre Halloween
Some accounts tell of how the Celts would burn someone at the stake who was thought to have already been possessed, as sort of a lesson to the spirits. Other accounts of Celtic history debunk these stories as myth.
The Romans adopted the Celtic practices as their own. But in the first century AD, Samhain was assimilated into celebrations of some of the other Roman traditions that took place in October, such as their day to honor Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. The symbol of Pomona is the apple, which might explain the origin of our modern tradition of bobbing for apples on Halloween.
The trick could be letting the air out of the person’s car’s tires, filling their windows with soap, throwing toilet paper rolls over their house’s roof, or anything else that makes them pay for not giving them a treat. The most preferred treats are candy, chocolate, or any other kinds of sweets, and sometimes pumpkin pie and fruit salad. But, no mater what they do, people always find a way to get into the spirit of the holiday, like everyone else should.
In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction during the long, dark winter.
To commemorate the event, Druids built huge sacred bonfires, where the people gathered to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic deities. During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins, and attempted to tell each other's fortunes. When the celebration was over, they re-lit their hearth fires, which they had extinguished earlier that evening, from the sacred bonfire to help protect them during the coming winter.

But one day not too good as they say, but Resit to catch him (Dracula in the tree). (Dracula) had commanded him to get down, but the boy told him that he did not get off until I promise that I will leave him alone for the rest of life, from now on there.

Most countries have a special national day on which they have displays of fireworks. In England, this special day in November 5th.
Everybody in England celebrates a big plot, which did not happen. King James was going to open Parliament on November 5th, 1605. A man called Guy Fawkes not only wanted to kill the king, but to blow up Parliament as well. But the king’s men found out about his plan, arrested him on November 4th and hanged him.
Later, some people got the idea of making a bonfire and burning fireworks on November 5th in order to remember the gunpowder Plot, and vary soon such bonfires became a general custom all over England.
Now children in England look forward to Guy Fawkes’ night every year. They make a straw man called a “Guy”. Some of them show their Guy to passers- by in the street and collect pennies.
Other play with fireworks or make bonfires on which they burn the “Guy”. Even the younger children may stay up late, to admire the rockets bursting in the ...
It is ironic how the quality of life increases and decreases at the same time. On one hand people do not have to make the effort of opening the refrigerator's door to grab a bottle of beer and on the other hand when they get outside the store they can feel the impact their laziness has on the quality of the air they breathe. Maybe people should start prioritizing the things that have a bigger impact on the quality of their lives and reduce or stop the things that offer comfort only in the short term. Maybe the manufacturers should start being more responsible and more aware of the big impact they have on the environment, and try to educate their customers in this matter.
Your body is one powerful machine, capable of doing all sorts of things by itself. But one thing it can't do is make vitamins. That's where food comes in. Your body is able to get the vitamins it needs from the foods you eat because different foods contain different vitamins. Though some kids take a daily vitamin, most kids don't need one if they're eating healthy foods.
Dragons are the one of the most amazing magical creatures in the world. Dragons are terrifying and awe-inspiring as they take wing and breathe fire. Muggles remember them only as beasts from mythology, which is a credit to the ongoing efforts of the Ministries of Magic in many countries who work tirelessly to keep these huge beasts hidden. Wizards who work with them are called Dragon Keepers (Charlie Weasley is a Dragon Keeper in Romania).
