Referat despre Halloween

Some accounts tell of how the Celts would burn someone at the stake who was thought to have already been possessed, as sort of a lesson to the spirits. Other accounts of Celtic history debunk these stories as myth.
The Romans adopted the Celtic practices as their own. But in the first century AD, Samhain was assimilated into celebrations of some of the other Roman traditions that took place in October, such as their day to honor Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. The symbol of Pomona is the apple, which might explain the origin of our modern tradition of bobbing for apples on Halloween.
The trick could be letting the air out of the person’s car’s tires, filling their windows with soap, throwing toilet paper rolls over their house’s roof, or anything else that makes them pay for not giving them a treat. The most preferred treats are candy, chocolate, or any other kinds of sweets, and sometimes pumpkin pie and fruit salad. But, no mater what they do, people always find a way to get into the spirit of the holiday, like everyone else should.
In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction during the long, dark winter.
To commemorate the event, Druids built huge sacred bonfires, where the people gathered to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic deities. During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins, and attempted to tell each other's fortunes. When the celebration was over, they re-lit their hearth fires, which they had extinguished earlier that evening, from the sacred bonfire to help protect them during the coming winter.

Then I was made one fear, so that we know what to do before, so I took her to run as his feet kept mau, but at some point I tripped and I fell down ... after I got up I went on and I met with (pumpkin lantern).
We am not sure about the origins of Haloween. The first references date to about 1550. It has apparently evolved from the feast of Allhallows or All Saints Day on November 1. This celebration dates from the 14th or 15th Centuries. Allhallows was a shortened form of Allhallowsmas.
By living in a society ruled by consumption, the environment gets caught in the middle. It is like a chain where the producers try to attract the customers with new features and designs, and the customers demand of the producer to come up with new and more appealing products. In this "hide and seek" game that is going on between the manufacturer and the consumer, the environment gets caught in the middle.
Events such as proms, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, parties and other celebrations made my school life easier and more enjoyable, and assuming responsibilities was really challenging. I especially enjoyed my participation in the “Junior Achievement” competition, which helped me discover that I have some business-oriented interests, and I learned so very many things about handling a successful company.
Fat-soluble vitamins are happy to stay stored in your body for awhile - some stay for a few days, some for up to 6 months! Then, when it's time for them to be used, special carriers in your body take them to where they're needed. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are all fat-soluble vitamins.
Water-soluble vitamins are different. When you eat foods that have water-soluble vitamins, the vitamins don't get stored as much in your body. Instead, they travel through your bloodstream. And whatever your body doesn't use comes out when you urinate.
During the 1970s, the Communist government also undertook many practical projects to re-enforce Vlad's reputation as a national hero: statues were erected, streets were renamed, restoration of his Arges castle was undertaken, and a commemorative postage stamp was issued in 1976 to mark the anniversary. In 1978, a feature movie entitled Vlad Tepes was produced which, according to Stoicescu, "portrays the true personality of a great prince" (142). Though I found the movie rather tedious, it is an interesting "reading" of Vlad from a contemporary political point of view: it comprises thinly veiled parallels between Vlad's political and military policies and the position taken by the Communist Party with respect to nationalism, the aristocracy, foreigners, and the maintenance of law and order.
