Romanian wedding customs
Within South Eastern Europe however, Romania preserved a significant number of traditional customs and celebrations manifest within the strong community of the village. Ceremonies dedicated to the significant moments of one's life (birth, wedding, death), to natural cycles (such as solstice, equinox, harvest, springtime) or to the big religious celebrations, follow the same archaic mythical rituals they did a thousand years ago. Even though preformed at the end of the 20th century in villages marked by modernization, such traditional rites haven't diminish their prestige.

In addition to being a personal relationship between two people, marriage is one of society’s most important and basic institutions. Marriage and family serve as tools for ensuring social reproduction. Social reproduction includes providing food, clothing, and shelter for family members; raising and socializing children; and caring for the sick and elderly. In families and societies in which wealth, property, or a hereditary title is to be passed on from one generation to the next, inheritance and the production of legitimate heirs are a prime concern in marriage. However, in contemporary industrialized societies, marriage functions less as a social institution and more as a source of intimacy for the individuals involved.
Marriage is commonly defined as a partnership between two members of opposite sex known as husband and wife. However, scholars who study human culture and society disagree on whether marriage can be universally defined. The usual roles and responsibilities of the ...
This requires that one of you has lived in the registration district for at least 15 days prior to giving notice. This is a more expensive option but it then allows a marriage to take place after only one clear day of giving notice. Be ready to provide certain documents to show the superintendent registrar. These may include a passport or some other form of identification. If either of you are divorced you will need to show a decree absolute of your divorce.
Because of its position on the southeastern region of the European continent and the very changeable configuration of the baric field makes the territory of Romania accessible to a very large scale of air masses, adding to the climate the transition character:
- oceanic influences to the west and center of the country
- continental influences from north with frosty winters and less rain, to the south and southeast
- in the extreme southeast, Mediterranean influences offer a milder, maritime climate
Yet Romanians themselves have been and still are ambivalent about Vlad. This duality of response is evident, for example, in the literature of the second half of the nineteenth century. On the one hand, a number of writers, swept up in the fervor of a revolutionary movement that culminated in the formation of a Romanian state in 1859, looked back to Vlad as a symbol of independence and nationhood. Ion Budai-Deleanu's epic poem Tiganiada (though actually written in the last decade of the eighteenth century) was published in 1875: here, Vlad Tepes is presented as one of Romania's first great national heroes, fighting against the Turks, the boyars, and the legions of evil. Poet Dimitrie Bolintineanu, in his "Battles of the Romanians," also praised Dracula's military exploits. And the famous late nineteenth-century poet Mihai Eminescu who, in his historical ballad The Third Letter (1881), called on the Impaler to come once again and save his country.
Although the trains were delayed because of the bad weather which means that this is not completely your fault, I think I would be satisfied only if I receive vouchers to the value of 40 % of the journey made.
Outlets may be stands or kiosks, which may provide no shelter or seating, or fast food restaurants (also known as quick service restaurants). Franchise operations which are part of restaurant chains have standardized foodstuffs shipped to each restaurant from central locations. The concept of ready-cooked food for sale is closely connected with urban development. In Ancient Rome cities had street stands that sold bread, sausages and wine.
In the cities of Roman antiquity, much of the urban population living in insulae, multi-storey apartment blocks, depended on food vendors for much of their meals. In the mornings, bread soaked in wine was eaten as a quick snack and cooked vegetables and stews later in the day at a popina, a simple type of eating establishment. In the Middle Ages, large towns and major urban areas such as London and Paris supported numerous vendors that sold dishes such as pies, pasties, flans, waffles, wafers, pancakes and cooked meats.
It is ironic how the quality of life increases and decreases at the same time. On one hand people do not have to make the effort of opening the refrigerator's door to grab a bottle of beer and on the other hand when they get outside the store they can feel the impact their laziness has on the quality of the air they breathe. Maybe people should start prioritizing the things that have a bigger impact on the quality of their lives and reduce or stop the things that offer comfort only in the short term. Maybe the manufacturers should start being more responsible and more aware of the big impact they have on the environment, and try to educate their customers in this matter.
A Western woman should not initiate a handshake with a man in India. Many Indian women will shake hands with a foreign woman, but not a foreign man.
When meeting someone, it is advisable to fold your hands as you would in prayer but your fingers (palms pressed together) should point upwards rather than forward. This is done simultaneously while using the Indian greeting "Namaste" (pronounced "num - us - tay").
When walking down a street in India, do not stare at the impoverished population, as this is considered a way to humiliate them.
Avoid showing anger, as this is the worst way to achieve anything in India.
When walking towards temples or other holy places, many street salespeople will approach you with their hand outstretched as if wanting to shake your hand. Be careful, as this is many times merely a scam to allow the salesperson to latch a religious bracelet on your wrist and then demand a donation.
Before entering a temple (or any sacred area for that matter), it is ...
