The importance of being earnest
John Worthing, known as Jack, the play's protagonist , is a pillar of the community, in Hertfordshire, where he is guardian to the pretty Cecily, the eighteen-year-old grandaughter of the late Thomas Cardew, who found and adopted him when he was a baby. In Hertfordshire, Jack has responsabilities: he is a major landowner, and justice of peace, with tendants, farmers, and a number of servants and other employees all dependent on him.
For years he has also pretended to have an irresponsable black-sheep brother named Ernest who leads a scandalous life in pursuit of plasure and is allways getting into trouble of a sort , that requiers Jack to rush grimly off to his assistance. In fact, Ernest is merely Jack's aliby, a phantom that alows him to disappear for days at a time, and do as he likes.
With the start of the Civil War, in April 1861, river traffic on the Mississippi was suspended, and Clemens' steamboat pilot career came to an end. He joined a volunteer militia group called the Marion Rangers, which drilled for two weeks before disbanding. By the summer of 1861, Sam accompanied Orion to the Nevada Territory by stagecoach; Orion had been appointed by President Lincoln as secretary of the new Territory, and Sam was to be his secretary.

It would be nice if we could say that William Shakespeare wrote King Lear when he himself was at an advanced age. We could picture him becoming concerned with retirement and the disposal of his property and goods. But the theory collapses when you realize that Shakespeare was only 41 years old when the first performance of King Lear was recorded in an official document.
The Globe was owned by a consortium of actors, who (except for one) were also shareholders in the Lord Chamberlain's Men. Two of the six Globe shareholders, Richard Burbage and his brother Cuthbert Burbage, owned double shares of the whole, or 25% each; the other four men, Shakespeare,VJF John Heminges, Augustine Phillips, and Thomas Pope, owned a single share, or 12.5%. (These initial proportions changed over time, as new sharers were added. Shakespeare's share diminished from 1/8 to 1/14, or roughly 7%, over the course of his career.)
For most of Jane’s first month at Lowood, Mr. Brocklehurst spends his time away from the school. When he returns, Jane becomes quite nervous because she remembers his promise to her aunt, Mrs. Reed, to warn the school about Jane’s supposed habit of lying. When Jane inadvertently drops her slate in Mr. Brocklehurst’s presence, he is furious and tells her she is careless. He orders Jane to stand on a stool while he tells the school that she is a liar, and he forbids the other students to speak to her for the rest of the day. Helen makes Jane’s day of humiliation endurable by providing her friend with silent consolation—she covertly smiles at Jane every time she passes by.
Those friends are not easy to find, but when we find them we know they will be like family to us. Whenever we need them they will be there for us no matter the late hours we call to ask them for advice or support. We will also be there, to help them solving their problems.
We need friends to go out with, to go skiing, clubbing, and have barbeques, go hiking, share music, talk about boys and girls, and many other things.
It's great to have many friends because each person is different and in this way we can learn from different people different things, we can share common things with people who have the same interests.
At school, we can share for examp le infonnation about papers, tests, homework with our colleagues. Also, if we like computer games and one of our friends likes that as we ll it is so nice to share with him our passion because he can understand us better than others.
Sometimes friendships last a lifetime, and this is the most extraordinary thing, to ...
In the software world, like in ethical world, if a good belief exists, such as everything will be perfect, things can fall completely on the other side. People think, and make different decisions, but understanding the way how they make those decisions, and discuss the opinions with others, will help reach a better agreement.
Another tradition is to be found in the surroundings of the beautiful town, Sibiu. It is said that in that area, people make a tree like the Christmas tree, but this time they decorate the tree with colored eggs.
A specific custom exists in Lapus, Maramures. There, young boys go on the Holy Sunday morning to their neighbors to announce them the revival of Jesus Christ; the neighbours have to give them a red egg. In Maramures also, the threshold has to be passed first by a man, in order to not take place any quarrel all over the year.

A person I admire very much is Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton is one of the most famous and loved American presidents being elected twice to be the ruler of the most impressive power on Earth.

GOD becomes an abstraction; a lay picture of the world is now dominant. The doubt expressed by the 18th century mind is shaped into essays.

3. Operele sale
Oscar Wilde a publicat versuri (Poems, 1881), povestiri (The Happy Prince and Other Stories, 1888), eseuri (The Soul of Man under Socialism,1891).
In creatia sa dramatica, "Evantaiul doamnei Windermere" (Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892), "O femeie fara importanta" (A Woman of no Importance,1893), "Sotul ideal" (An Ideal Husband, 1895), "Ce inseamna sa fii onest" (The Importance of Being Earnest, 1895), care continua traditiile comediei engleze din secolul al XVIII-lea cu Sheridan, Oscar Wilde satirizeaza snobismul, frivolitatea si fatarnicia "inaltei societati" a timpului, lasand sa se intrevada preocuparile sale ...
