The tradition of easter referat
It would have been suicide for the very early Christian converts to celebrate their holy days with observances that did not coincide with celebrations that already existed. To save lives, the missionaries cleverly decided to spread their religious message slowly throughout the populations by allowing them to continue to celebrate pagan feasts, but to do so in a Christian manner.
As it happened, the pagan festival of Eastre occurred at the same time of year as the Christian observance of the Resurrection of Christ. It made sense, therefore, to alter the festival itself, to make it a Christian celebration as converts were slowly won over. The early name, Eastre, was eventually changed to its modern spelling, Easter.
The Date of Easter

Easter holiday is the most important holiday in Romania, and of course, is the most important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year. Christians celebrate this day in their belief that Jesus rose from the death on the third day after His crucifixion. In Romania, there are Eastern Orthodox Christians, as well as Eastern Catholic Christians, the latter being in a smaller number. I am an Orthodox, and I will concentrate on the Orthodox Easter. In Eastern Christianity, the spiritual preparation for "Pascha" begins with the Great Lent, that lasts 7 weeks, meaning 48 days, and it is the longest and the most though fast from the all 4 fasts in the Christian-Orthodox religion.
The most extreme form of parental influence is an arranged marriage in which the bride and groom have no say at all. In a less extreme form of arranged marriage, parents may do the matchmaking, but the young people can veto the choice. Some small cultures scattered around the world have what social scientists call preferential marriage. In this system, the bride or groom is supposed to marry a particular kind of person—for example, a cousin on the mother’s or father’s side of the family.
In many traditional societies, marriage typically involved transfers of property from the parents to their marrying children or from one set of parents to the other. These customs persist in some places today and are part of the tradition of arranged marriages. For example, in our culture the bride’s parents may give property (known as a dowry) to the new couple. The practice of giving dowries has been common in countries such as Greece, Egypt, India, and China from ancient times ...
In all the countries of the world and in Britain and the United States as well, it is a tradition to make the last night of the year one of fun and gaiety.

Everybody likes to see the old year out and the new year in noisily and cheerfully.
At midnight in Britain and America, people join their hands and sing “We’ll take a cup of kindness yet for Auld Lang Syne”.
American children enthusiastically wish to get rid of their little bad habits and resolve to do something good in the New Year. They write down their resolutions on cards:
“I resolve to hang up my clothes before I go to bed.”
“I resolve to stop teasing my sister.”
“I resolve to learn a foreign language.”
They sign their names and deliver the cards to their parents for safe- keeping, and in order to be ...

Sarbatoarea crestina a Pastilor are o legatura semnificativa cu Pastele Vechiului Testament, dar, in acelasi timp, ea este si o sarbatoare cu totul noua, avand dovada invierii Domnului nostru lisus Hristos.
