In the field of linguistics, a sentence is an expression in natural language, and often defined to indicate a grammatical unit consisting of one or more words that generally bear minimal syntactic relation to the words that precede or follow it. A sentence can include words grouped meaningfully to express a statement, question, exclamation, request, command or suggestion. Sentences have to be combined to avoid the monotony that would surely result if all sentences were brief and of equal length.
Part of the writer's task is to employ whatever music is available to him or her in language, and part of language's music lies within the rhythms of varied sentence length and structure. The theme of the present research Course Paper is Kinds of sentences and their use in ''Wuthering Heights'' by Emily Bronte. Though, it is far from having been by - passed by prominent grammars, still it proclaims itself to be inexhaustible and interesting to research. The main purpose of the investigation is to analyse the kinds of sentences (simple, complex and compound) in "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. In order to achieve the main aim of this work the following objectives were set:
