The main purpose of this research paper is to examine the question whether Communicative Approach strategies and techniques can be effectively applied to teaching writing and produce positive academic results.The objectives of the present paper are the following: to define the notion of Communicative Approach, to describe and analyse Communicative Approach strategies and techniques, to investigate how they can be applied to teaching writing, to analyse practical application of Teaching Writing via Communicative Approach. This research paper presents the description of Communicative principles, strategies and techniques. Further there is short description of teaching writing strategies and their relation with communicative techniques. In addition it describes an experiment whose purpose was to apply the communicative approach to teaching writing.
The practical value of the present study is represented by its goal to present the description and analysis of practical application of Communicative Approach to teaching writing.
Introduction
The topic of my diploma thesis " Teaching Writing via Communicative Approach in the National EFL classroom " was chosen due to the fact that the mastery of communicative skills of English language are one of the most challenging but at the same time the most necessary skill for English language learners.
The relevance of this work lies in the fact that the communicative approach is directed to the possibility of communication 4 "components", which keeps any language training (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), increased attention is paid to the second point - teaching writing, types and functions of writing. The formation of competences and the development of good writing skills in English.
So the main goal of the research is to investigate practical application of Communicative Approach to Teaching Writing. The objectives of this study are the following:
1. to define the notion of Teaching Writing;
2. to describe and analyse Communicative Approach strategies and techniques;
3. to investigate how teaching writing strategies can be applied to communicative techniques;
4. to analyse practical application of Communicative Approach of teaching Writing;
The methods of investigation that were used in the present study are the following: classification and comparative analysis. Analytical method was used while implementing the investigation of Communicative Approach and also its practical application to teaching writing. Classification was used while presenting and describing different types of teaching writing. Comparative analysis was used while examining differences and similarities of Communicative Approach, Teaching Writing - Based Language Teaching.
Present research paper has the following structure: introduction, the first chapter that investigates Communicative Approach and teaching writing, the second chapter that presents the description and analysis of practical application of Communicative Approach of teaching writing, general conclusions, bibliography and an appendix.
CHAPTER ONE: THEORETICAL STUDY OF THE TEACHING WRITING AND COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH
The purpose of the given chapter is to present on overview of the most important theoretical concerns that are relevant for our research. Among these are the communicative goals and principles comparing and contrasting them to other modern ways of teaching. Another issue covered in this chapter is connected with various aspects of teaching writing including their role in communicative approach.
