Queen Elizabeth II has Hungarian-Romanian roots through the Countess Claudine Rhedey von Kis-Rhede (the 21st of September 1812- the 1st of October 1841) that lived in Sangeorgiu de Padure, Mures County, the Ardeal region, Romania. Claudia got married to Prince Alexander von Wurttemberg (the 9th of September 1904-the 4th of July 1885). They had 2 daughters and 1 son. Her son, Franz of Teck got married to Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge.
They had 3 sons and 1 daughter - Mary of Teck / Mary Victoria (the 26th of May 1867-the 24th of March 1953) who got married to King George V (the 3rd of June 1865-the 20th of January 1936) in 1893. They has 2 sons: George VIII who abdicated in order to get married to the American Wallis Simpson and George VI - the father of Queen Elizabeth II. So, Elizabeth II is Claudia Rhedey's great-great-granddaughter.

Moreover, King Michael of Romania (born on the 25th of October 1921) and Her Royal Highness are third degree cousins. They are both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria.Elizabeth is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, marking 60 years as Queen, as we speak. She is the longest-lived and second-longest-reigning monarch -after Queen Victoria (the 24th of May 1819-the the 22nd of January 1901, who lived 81 years and 243 days) -of the United Kingdom, and the second-longest-serving current head of state - after King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

She does not intend to abdicate, though the proportion of public duties performed by Prince Charles may increase as Elizabeth reduces her commitments.QUEEN ELIZABETH II / Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born on the 21st of April 1926. She is the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms, and head of the 54-member Commonwealth of Nations. In her specific role as the monarch of the United Kingdom, one of her 16 realms, she is Supreme Governor of the Church of England. She is also head of state of the Crown Dependencies.

She has German roots. She descends from the English Royal Family and from the German Royal Family. She belongs to the House of Windsor. She belonged to the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha - a dynasty from the German region Bavaria. In 1840, Queen Victoria married her 1st degree German cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (the 26th of August 1819-the 14th of December 1861). In 1917, due to the anti-German sentiment in the United Kingdom during the First World War, King George V - the grandson of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert - changed the name of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the House of Windsor.
